“Having someone to verbal process my weaknesses with in order to trouble shoot and plan as well as celebrate small victories to build momentum has been really helpful. Our meetings provide a sense of accountability. Coaching has also helped me build self-awareness even when working independently and in my personal life. With my ADHD, I’ve always tried to come up with systems and plans to support my EF weakness. Without a coach, I would forget about them, but our coaching sessions help to keep my plans in the forefront. I find the texts in between sessions to check on a goal progress helpful. Jen has been able to act as a “therapist”, in that she allows me to share my vulnerabilities and process my challenges without it feeling judgmental, and then shift my focus to a positive. I’ve noticed a significant decrease in my own negative self-talk/blame/shame and am able to regroup after a setback/bad meeting much quicker. ”
